Young Adult Service Corps
The Young Adult Service Corps (YASC) is a ministry for young adults who are interested in exploring their faith in new ways by living and serving in communitites around the Anglican Communion. The program is run by Mission Personnel staff in collaboration with the Office of Global Partnerships of The Episcopal Church.
YASC is specificially designed for Episcopalians ages 21-30. Applications are excepted in early January of each year. Service begins in late summer/early fall of each year. YASC brings young adults into the life of the worldwide Anglican Communion and into the daily life and work of a local community. The program began in 2000 and has sent over 100 young adults to 33 countries around the Anglican Communion. YASC volunteers have managed websites, provided administrative support, participated in medical programs, and contributed significantly to the mission and ministry of our Anglican partners around the world.
Watch this short trailer below about YASC which highlights three 2012-2013 volunteers serving in South Africa and Lesotho.
For the 2015-2016 program year, there are three YASC volunteers from the Diocese of Virginia. The Diocese is happy and proud to support these young adults in their missionary work.
