Join us for the concert of early music vocal ensembles and instrumentalists!
Dr. Vera Kochanowsky, who is the founder and director of Carmina (mixed choir) and Illuminare (women’s ensemble), will be retiring after this concert. She has directed uniquely creative concerts of Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music in the Washington area for 25 years.
The program for this concert is titled “A Grand Finale". The vocal ensembles and guest instrumentalists will celebrate Vera’s inspired leadership by revisiting some of their favorite music from the past 25 years, including Monteverdi’s joyous Beatus vir, the Cantata Befiehl dem Engel by Buxtehude, Janequin’s avian Extravaganza Le chant des Oyseaulx, Choral Lieder by Brahms, and much more.
The wine and cheese reception will follow to celebrate both Vera's retirement and Odeon's successful 23rd year season.
