Fall Clergy Retreat at Shrine Mont

Shrine Mont

All clergy are invited to a time of rest and refreshment at Shrine Mont from Monday evening, October 18, through Wednesday lunch, October 20. Our time together will be a time of true retreat. We’ll share meals following Shrine Mont’s COVID protocols and gather for worship and brief meditations. The rest of our time will be open for naps, walks, reading, refreshment in God’s amazing creation and hanging out with friends old and new. There will be no workshops, meetings or rehearsals as we create gracious space for healing rest.

Thank you to the clergy who responded to our poll, in which a majority responded that they would be comfortable gathering at Shrine Mont. As the Coronavirus pandemic continues, we will follow strict practices to ensure the health and safety of all who attend and of their loved ones at home. We will practice physical distancing and wear masks at all times indoors, except while eating. We will have tables for eating outdoors for those who prefer that option. All housing will be single occupancy with private bathrooms. We ask that you be fully vaccinated before coming to Shrine Mont. There have been no outbreaks of Covid-19 associated with Shrine Mont since they reopened in the late spring of this year.

Registration will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, on the porch of Virginia House. Our first meal together will be that evening at 5:30 p.m. The cost of the retreat this year will be $99 for one night, $198 for both nights, and $99 for commuters. You can register here.

We hope that you will join us at Shrine Mont. If you prefer not to be in a gathering during this time of pandemic, or if you are unable to come for any reason, we hope that you will take some time of retreat for rest and refreshment during those days.

God bless us all as we serve the Church in Christ’s name. God bless us all as we seek rest and refreshment in a stressful season.

Faithfully yours,

Bishop Susan E. Goff
Bishop Jennifer Brooke-Davidson
