Active with St. George's Church, on vestry, choir, facilities commission. Helped start Church of the Holy Cross in 1979 as a mission of S. Dunstan's, McLean.

Why do you wish to serve?:
I have been a member of the VDH for the past seven years, leaving the board in 2013, and would like to return and continue the work started years ago.

Congregant at St Paul's, Alexandria, since 1983; two three-year vestry terms, one as senior warden; co-chair of $6.5 million capital campaign; 1998-99 search committee member and principal author church/parish self-study; leader of Highland Education Project home repairs mission to McDowell Country, WV for 23 years; member of two discernment committees; co-chair of St Paul's outreach committee for 6 years; intercessor; one of four St Paul's trustees.

Why do you wish to serve?:
Many of my cohorts live in VDH facilities around Virginia and I am keenly interested in the well-being of these CCRC facilities, the issue of building more of them, and the overall issue of aging in America at age 70 myself.

Pertinent skills you bring to this work:
As an elder law attorney, nominee works extensively with seniors and their families, caregivers, residential/assisted living communities, service providers, etc.

Why do you wish to serve?:
The need for faith-based residences for seniors is great. I would like to work within the VDH to create new communities in the Diocese and expand the strength of the current homes.
