Wonder in All: Spring Clergy Retreat
Online, via Zoom
Dear Friends in Christ,
We have been living in an extraordinary time as we lead the people of the Diocese of Virginia through the disruption, fear and opportunity of global pandemic. You have been doing faithful and loving work as you offer worship, pastoral care, Christian formation, outreach and other ministries in new ways. As this season continues, a retreat is more welcome than ever.
Because Shrine Mont remains closed, we will not take our usual three day retreat there next month. Instead, I invite you to join me in a one day virtual retreat on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Our retreat leader will be the Rt. Rev. Marc Andrus, Bishop of California and beloved friend of this diocese who served here for many years. Worship and music will be coordinated by Martha Burford. Our theme for the retreat is:
Wonder in All: Healing
Self + Community + Creation
The retreat day will follow a monastic rhythm of prayer, including morning, noonday and afternoon worship, each with a meditation by Bishop Andrus, who writes more and offers preparation material at the above link. Between meditations, you may reflect on your own or in small electronic discussion groups. The day will end with prayers for the evening in which we invite your entire household to participate.
The registration for this retreat is $12. We also invite those who are able, to make a donation to Shrine Mont and help ensure that the programs there will continue after this time of disruption has passed. You may register, pay the registration fee and offer an optional donation to Shrine Mont here. Won’t you join me as we seek spiritual refreshment and restoration together?
God bless you as you continue faithful love and service in Jesus’ name. God bless us all as we lead and live and learn through these times.
The Rt. Rev. Susan E. Goff
