Adult Misconduct Prevention (Train the Trainer)

Shrine Mont

The "train the trainer" workshops at Shrine Mont preceding the Bishop’s Spring Conference will offer an opportunity for clergy to be certified to teach the new misconduct prevention curriculum in their parish, and for lay trainers to be re-certified to teach the training.

Note: If you’re a lay professional interested in being certified to teach for the first time, please see these guidelines on the certification process.

The new curriculum affects both the Child Abuse Prevention and Adult Misconduct Prevention workshops:

  • Both trainings will be 2-2.5 hours. There will no longer be “full” and "abbreviated" versions of the trainings – all trainings will be 2-2.5 hours.
  • Both trainings will include a new handout on safe practices for using social media.
  • The adult misconduct prevention training features new video case studies – we've retired the out-of-date "Not in My Church" video. There is a new DVD, which will be given to attendees free-of-charge.
  • The adult misconduct prevention training will always include an elder abuse prevention unit.

Carolyn Voldrich will be leading the training. Please click here to register.
