An Eye for Mission at St. Paul’s, Hanover The parishioners at St. Paul’s, Hanover are living out mission locally, nationally and internationally through several service-minded projects in 2008 and beyond. During August, Vacation Bible School participants joined with parishioners to collect donations of food. Their end result was two pickup trucks full of donations for Ashland Christian Emergency Services (ACES). One ongoing mission of the church is to support a partnership with a priest in rural Uganda. Every few months, members of St. Paul’s send boxes of used eyeglasses to the area. In November, St. Paul’s has plans to travel to New Orleans for their sixth mission trip since Hurricane Katrina devastated the region over three years ago. The church will work with the Diocese of Louisiana to hang and finish sheetrock, paint, lay flooring and clean houses. Participants are also busy raising funds for the mission’s travel costs.
