The impact of events at Virginia Tech are beginning to be felt across the country and here at home in the Diocese of Virginia. As of this writing, we have no reports of fatalities among members of our community. We do have a report of an injury from a bullet – treated and released into the parents’ care – as well as a growing number of reports of people within our community whose lives are connected with others who were injured or killed. In addition, there are still some students from our community who have not been accounted for.
Many churches across the Diocese held prayer vigils last night, and many more are staying open for ongoing prayer and meditation and also scheduling services and other remembrances at other times during this week. A list of those services that I know about follows in alphabetical order by city or region.
