Standing Committee presents resolution to Diocesan Council – calling for the Election of Bishop Coadjutor and empowering the Standing committee to appoint a Search Committee and a Transition Committee to implement the nominating and election process.

February 7, 2006

Standing Committee to begin process to obtain the consents of Bishops exercising jurisdiction and of a majority of the Standing committees to the election of a Bishop Coadjutor in the Diocese of Virginia.
 

February 7, 2006

Appoint a Search Committee and a Transition Committee, composed of  lay and ordained persons, who are representative of the geographical areas as well as the gender, racial , ethnic and theological  diversity of the Diocese.

March 18, 2006

Retreat for members of Standing Committee, Search Committee, Transition Committee, Bishops, consultant and Chaplain.
Committees to convene and begin the processes.

Profile of the Diocese created

Identify and recruit suitable candidates for Bishop Coadjutor
