Standing Committee Charge to the Transition Committee

The ministry of the Transition Committee includes six tasks:

• Presenting the nominees to the Diocese through a "walkabout" process;
• Organizing the election at the 212* Annual Council;
• Making arrangements for the consecration of the bishop coadjutor or the celebration of a new ministry;
• Assisting the bishop coadjutor and his or her femily in the transition to their new life in the Diocese of Virginia;
• Supporting the diocesan bishop through his retirement; and
• Communicating with the diocese and with the wider community, including the news media.

The chair or co-chair of the Committee shall be responsible for sending a written report monthly detailing their progress, addressed to the President of the Standing Committee.
