Spotlight: Annual Council
The theme of the 212th Annual Council, to be held Jan. 26-27 at the Richmond Marriott and the Richmond Convention Center, is ONE Church : ONE Mission.
The evening prior to council will include a reception under the theme "A Gathering of Oral History Story Tellers," featuring anecdotal reflections on our history as well as story boards commemorating the bishops who have served the Diocese.
Annual Council attendees will be joined by council chaplain the Rt. Rev. John Paterson, bishop of Auckland, New Zealand and chairman of the worldwide Anglican Consultative Council.
New information continues to be added to the Annual Council Web site. Recent additions to the site include an agenda as well as reports, amendments and nominees submitted to date. Please visit http://www.thediocese.net/diocese/annual_council.shtml for the latest updates.
The deadline for nominations, resolutions and amendments to the Canons is Jan. 8. A revised list of lay delegates, alternates and canonically resident clergy (those eligible to vote) will be posted Friday by 2 p.m.

Trinity Institute to be offered locally through regional teleconference
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Richmond to host Southeastern Region, January 22-24
The Trinity Institute is a continuing education program to provide theological renewal for clergy in the Episcopal Church. St. Stephen’s, Richmond will serve as the Southeastern regional host, providing the conference via Internet, as well as offering a small group experience on site. The church is accepting registrations now. “God’s Unfinished Future: Why it Matters Now” is the theme of the 37th Annual Trinity Institute. Speakers are Jürgen Moltmann the Rev. Barbara R. Rossing, Th.D., and the Rev. Peter J. Gomes. The registration fee for the regional teleconference, which includes materials, snacks and lunches, is $50.
