Spotlight: World Mission

Going on a mission trip? Did you recently return from one? Does your parish have a youth mission trip planned? There are numerous world mission efforts underway sponsored by various parishes throughout the Diocese. We’re headed to Honduras, Peru, Tanzania, Sudan, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic, to name a few. And in the U.S., there are mission trips underway to the Gulf Coast, Appalachia and various Native American reservations. It’s amazing where our hearts for mission are leading us.

But you know what?….most folks throughout the Diocese don’t know what you’re up to. And they would love to know. And other parishes would like to become involved in world mission efforts. The best way for them to get started is to hear about your experiences. So please email our new Missioner for World Mission, Buck Blanchard, at bblanchard@thediocese.net (or call at 1-800-DIOCESE x. 35) and tell us about your trip. We’ll work to get the word out to others throughout the Diocese.

Still want to find out more about how we can assist you in your mission endeavors? Looking for some funding for your mission trip? Then review the new information posted on our website www.thediocese.net (click under “Diocese” and then under “Global Mission”).

Do you have comments or suggestions on how we can improve our efforts to facilitate world mission work throughout the Diocese? Then email Buck and let him know what you’re thinking. His job is to encourage, facilitate and support your efforts to participate in world mission and to assure that everyone who wants to participate on a world mission trip has that opportunity. So speak up, and we’ll do what we can to help.

Travel safely and in peace.
