… is a small but growing church (ASA 126) at the intersection of four suburban communities in the midst of Fairfax County. The congregation is largely composed of families with school-age children, with a significant number of empty-nesters and a number of younger adults. Our families tend to be over-committed and short on time, but enthusiastic about the ministries of the church and eager for opportunities to come together in fellowship and mutual support. The congregation is consistently in transition as people move in and out of the area due to career moves, but there is a core of long-term, committed members. We place deep value on our programs for children and youth and for music, and we are committed to our identity as a warm and welcoming community. We are striving to grow in our efforts around adult education and to further develop our long-term commitment to Outreach. We recently entered into a relationship with a school and parish in the Diocese of Haiti.
We are seeking a lay assistant to work with the rector and the people of the congregation to further energize and develop our ministry for families. The focus of this ministry is the nurture of our children and youth. This focus will entail support for intergenerational programming that allows the whole of our parish to learn and grow together. - The Assistant will coordinate our youth program, working with adult leaders to enrich our EYC groups while facilitating their connection to our wider parish life of faith, community, and service.
- The Assistant will coordinate and help lead the Confirmation process for our youth.
- The Assistant will work with the Rector on the development and enrichment of the spiritual lives of our families, attending to faith formation in its every aspect.
