Austin Bartenstein

Austin is the clerk to Bishop Johnston. He joined the diocesan staff in September 2011. Austin drives the bishop to his Sunday visitations, as well as other business trips around the Diocese. As the clerk, he aids the bishop’s assistant Amy Williams, and they team up to perform the administrative work in the office of the bishop. Austin graduated from Mary Washington in 2011 where he majored in English. He is from Richmond and has been a part of the Diocese in some way for a while. Austin was on the Parish Youth Ministries team for four years in high school and worked at Shrine Mont camps during high school and college. In his free time, Austin enjoys movies, playing ultimate frisbee, writing and watching football. He is one of the few non-Redskin fans in the office, so he loves the fall and winter seasons.
