Staff Liaison: Buck Blanchard, 800-DIOCESE x16

Basic Info: The purpose of the Committee of World Mission is to challenge, encourage and support individuals and parishes within the Diocese of Virginia to know and carry out their common Christian responsibility of mission to the world.

The Committee is comprised of members, each serving a three-year term and eligible for reappointment for a second term. Members are selected from those who volunteer or are nominated by diocesan staff and the Executive Committee. They are formally appointed by the Bishop.

The Committee on World Mission sponsors periodic meetings throughout the year open to all people in the Diocese of Virginia to:

  • Provide information concerning mission activities throughout the Diocese of Virginia
  • Provide training information on areas of interest or concern to those involved in mission
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among those in the world mission community

The Committee on World Mission also reviews and makes decisions on grant requests for mission funding.
